I am currently accepting review requests for physical copies only, and will not be considering e-arcs at this time. My preferred genres are literary fiction, historical fiction and magical realism, although I will consider most genres if the plot sounds interesting to me. I am under no obligation to accept a request, but if I do I will post a review within thirty days of publication, unless directed otherwise i.e. if the publisher has a policy whereby the review must be published directly before publication. If a request is a back list title, I will be under no time constraint but will do my best to read and review it promptly. Please, however, be aware that arcs will take priority so this is not always possible.
I will always attempt to be constructive with my criticism, and never be defamatory towards an author or publisher personally, but I will provide my honest opinions.Â
My star ratings are as follows:
1. Very little to redeem the book, found myself disinterested or struggling to continue; the book may be problematic or offensive
2. I didn’t like the book, but it provoked strong feelings and had some good points; I was disappointed with the book but I may read more from this author in the future
3. I liked the book enough to recommend it to others, but there were still some flaws which I will outline in my review
4. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and will recommend it heartily
5. The book is a new favourite and I have struggled to find flaws within it; I will definitely read more from this author in the future and will continue to recommend to friends and followers
