Book Haul – April 2019

April Book Haul 2019.jpg

I haven’t been buying books recently, because I am currently in between jobs (hopefully my interview tomorrow will change this). However, my partner did buy these three for us to share, because he has gotten back into reading this year. Coincidentally, they all start with the letter ‘P’, which probably stands for ‘please don’t leave us on the shelf gathering dust for six years’, but who knows? Below, I will include the Goodreads description link, a link for you to purchase the books if you’re interested and a brief reason why we got them.

1. The Painted Man by Peter V. Brett

This book was chosen because we needed an extra book to reach free delivery, and I’ve been interested in starting some new fantasy series this spring/summer after I complete my read through of the Women’s Prize long list. This one piqued my interest the most at the time, so added to the basket it was.

Goodreads: The Painted Man (Demon Cycle #1)

Book Depository: Paperback

2. Pet Sematary by Stephen King

I haven’t been a huge fan of everything I’ve read by Stephen King, and I often feel alienated from the masses of people who claim he’s the best author ever. However, both myself and my partner are excited to see the remake of the film in the cinema, so I thought it would be a good plan to read the book first. Also, when both my partner and myself read the same book, we get to discuss it afterwards, and it’s legitimately one of my favourite things in the world.

Goodreads: Pet Sematary

Book Depository: Paperback // Film Tie-in

3. Prisoners of Geography by Tim Marshall

My partner has been wanting this book for a while, and since he has nearly finished the book he is currently reading, he decided to add it to our collection, ready to read next. Ordinarily, this would not go into my haul, but I am interested in reading this one too.

Goodreads: Prisoners of Geography

Book Depository: Hardback // Paperback

Which books have been added to your collections this month? Feel free to link me to your book hauls or make me a recommendation. Happy reading!

Please note that all Book Depository links are affiliate links and if you buy any books through them, I will earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. I will be putting this commission towards improving the content I create for this blog.

  1. I have Prisoners of Geography, but I’ve not picked it up yet. Have you or your partner read Tim Marshall’s newest book, Divided? It also looks like a great read. I’m really back about picking up non-fiction as I feel like it takes me so much longer to finish it. I’ve also been eyeing up Peter V. Brett’s books as well, but I don’t want to pick it up until I’ve reduced my TBR. What’s your favourite fantasy series?

    1. No we haven’t, but it definitely sounds interesting, if we like Prisoners of Geography, we’ll pick that one up next! I know what you mean, I like to read a stack from my tbr before I pick up new books. I’m really loving The Witcher series at the moment, what’s your favourite?
